Y’all. I can still feel the love between Laurie and Evan in this woodsy engagement session in the Grasslands, and I am so excited for their Summer wedding at Wildcatter Ranch. The playfulness and love between these two just tickles my heart! Evan and Laurie are tying the knot later this year and I cannot wait to share more of their love story with you. A little about the couple
Evan and Laurie matched on a dating app in 2019. Evan smoothly got Laurie’s number by suggesting they exchange photos of their dogs- Prince and Pax. The two officially met when Laurie invited Evan to a Midland Beer Garden’s annual catfish broil for her birthday- doubling as their first date. GET THIS. Laurie’s phone died between the time she invited Evan and the time he showed up. This brave man drove across town not only to meet a girl he’d never met, but one who was also not returning his text messages! Once he showed up, they ate, drank, played games, talked a TON. And well, “when you know, you know!”
How did he pop the question?
A cute thing about these two is that they cannot keep secrets from each other. One day Laurie asked Evan how his weekend was (he had went out to see her father and chat about their planned trip to Disney World). Evan let it slip: “and then I told your dad ‘well you know we are going to Disney World, but I haven’t told you that the grand finale is that I want to ask Laurie to mar–” Evan was mortified. Laurie was shocked.
Fast forward to Disney World. The pressure is on. Laurie kept dropping down making fake proposals to Evan, anticipating the proposal at any moment. Evan and his family placed little plastic rings around for Laurie to find in locations that were significant, she found 7 total! Little did she know, Evan set up a timer to propose to her halfway through a private viewing of fireworks…with the 8th ring. One for every month Evan has loved Laurie. “It was truly the most magical proposal ever!”
