Quaid’s birth journey was nothing short of amazing. Momma, Lindsey, breathed Quaid out in 3 pushes for this hospital water birth and barely made a sound. I tell you women’s bodies are amazing. I love that a God is so perfect in this way, that he made our bodies to withstand this amount of pain but still come out smiling and more in love after it. Quaid’s dad, Asa, was the most supportive and loving husband to Lindsey. He was there for her to help with baby pain and also to help grab her a icy cold towel. Us women tend to get hot while popping those babies out.
Could she be any more beautiful and serene while prepping for birth?
That tenz unit is solid gold during surgery.
It helps so much with the pain and spasms created during those contractions.
I am so excited that more hospitals are jumping on board with natural births, and not just natural but WATER births. How cool is that!!
(And side note – the purple glow you are seeing in some of the birth images is the uplighting that the hospital installs to the tops of the cabinets to give the room a calming atmosphere.)
5:43 pm and went straight to mommas arms.
His eyes even got watery and he instantly broke out his phone and starting snapping photos of his new baby and beautiful wife.
The look of YES!! WE did this, babe.
Skin to skin and snuggles with dad, while mom gets moved to the bed to be cleaned up and birth the placenta.
This one had a perfect tree in it. Such a wonder how our bodies make such things.
Quaid Roy weighted in at 7.6lbs and 19′ long. He has a full set of dark hair and his little coo’s melted our hearts.
Super proud daddy! I just love this family!
Big brother and sister are about to meet baby Quaid for the first time!
I love this one, I love how dad is watching his new family of 5!
And of course, brother and sister had to get a turn holding baby Quaid.
Thank you so much to the K family for allowing me to document your journey and to help welcome Quaid into the world during his Harris Hospital water birth. It was such an honor to be part of such an amazing and truly heart warming day.
