Introducing Noah David’s amazing Origins Water Birth video. I love capturing those sweet moments through stills but what gets my heart is when a mom elects to also have a video of her birth. What a special keepsake to have to live over and over again from the first moment after to their 21st birthday. I mean at that point, it’s kind of blackmail. HA!
I got the call the night before that Brittany was starting labor. She went to the Origins birthing center in Fort Worth, Texas on June 11th, but with only being dilated to a one they sent her home to sleep. The next morning around 3am her contractions had progressed and she went back to the Origins birthing center to labor. Her midwife told me to head that way about 11am on Friday the 12th.
When I arrived, mamma was laboring beside the bed and you could tell her body was starting the transition phase. Shortly after I arrived we went for a walk outside for fresh air and then after we got back inside she labored in the shower on the birth ball, then the tub, then back on the bed. About 7ish pm we went for another walk outside. Labor had slowed down so around 10:30pm they suggested that we all kinda just take a rest and zone out.
After taking a little nap in the front room for about an hour, I woke up to find Brittany back in active labor! The pushing started about 12:45 am and Noah was born at 2:09am on the July 13th, 2020. This strong woman went over 48 hours with no sleep and labored for 31 of those hours! It was a long day, but so beautiful and so worth it!!
